Abstract

The testimonies about the date of Pascha - statements by the bishop Claudius Apollinarios and the inscription on the tomb of P. Aelius Glykon - give instructive information about religious identities in imperial Hierapolis: Both Christians and pagans know more or less about the Jewish customs in the computation of the calendar. The calendaric discourse reveals itself as an important element of interaction between different religions.
