Abstract

AbstractAs a result of our geomorphic studies, we obtained new data about the close relationship between the bottom topography and nature of the latest movements within the basins of lakes Ladoga and Onega. Computer geodynamic simulation showed that this relationship can be explained by the development of supposed active faults that we identified on a detailed scale, under the setting of a northeastern extension, whose axis is oriented across the strike of the considered lake basins.
