Analyzing power for pp and pd elastic scattering in the Coulomb‐nuclear interference region at 800 MeV

Abstract

A recoil technique for detecting recoil particles was recently employed at LAMPF to measure the analyzing power and differential cross section for pp and pd elastic scattering. Analyzing powers for pp elastic scattering were measured down to a four‐momentum transfer t of 0.005 (GeV/c)2, and for pd, 0.015 (Gev/c)2. The pp data set has been included in a phase shift analysis yielding a fair fit to the data.
