Abstract

Anaemia is common in patients with symptomatic PHPT, and was associated with marrow fibrosis in the majority of the patients who underwent bone biopsy. Both anaemia and marrow fibrosis improved after curative parathyroidectomy, but improvement in anaemia was noticeable only in those who had marrow fibrosis at presentation.
