Abstract

Abstract The Seebeck coefficients along the binary and trigonal axes of single crystals of antimony and arsenic have been measured and found to be positive in sign between 80°K and 320°K. The data together with recently determined Fermi surface parameters and mobilities suggest that either Chandrasekhar's theory of isotropic partial Seebeck coefficients as developed for bismuth is not applicable to antimony or our knowledge of the Fermi surface is incomplete.
