Abstract

Abstract NaGe 2P 3O 12 which belongs to [NZP]—a family of low thermal expansion materials, was synthesized by solid state reaction method. An attempt was made to produce glass-ceramic of NaGe 2P 3O 12 because of its low melting behavior. Bulk thermal expansions of sintered and glass samples of NaGe 2P 3O 12 were measured and found quite high. A glass-ceramic with single crystalline phase of NaGe 2P 3O 12 could not be produced.
