Abstract

Abstract A classical Monte Carlo trajectory model was used for the calculation of the yield of photo electrons from a metal cathode in gaseous argon which reach the anode. The parameters of the model were the applied electric field, the argon density, and the excess energy of the injected electrons. The dependence of the photo yield on the above parameters was in good overall agreement with experiment.
