Abstract

Abstract A new calcium hydrogenurate hydrate of the composition Ca(C 5H 3N 4O 3) 2(H 2O) 3 has been prepared via Ca(C 5H 3N 4O 3) 2L 3, L = (CH 3) 2SO, (CH 3) 2NCHO complexes. Air stable substance is thermally, structurally, and spectroscopically different from the only known calcium hydrogenurate hydrate phase, [Ca(H 2O) 6](C 5H 3N 4O 3) 2. The characterization of calcium hydrogenurate trihydrate might help in recognition of calcium hydrogenurate hydrates in renal calculi because its presence has not yet been explicitly confirmed.
