Abstract

Antibody titers to fecal strains of E. coli were determined serially in 8 children with symptoms suggestive of urinary tract infection who had minimal or negative urinary findings. The antibody titers were elevated when symptoms were present, fell during treatment as symptoms subsided, and rose again in patients who relapsed. The value of serum antibody determination in such patients is discussed.
