Abstract

Abstract A series of allyl- and β-methallyltin compounds have been prepared by the action of the olefinic Grignard reagent on the appropriate tin halide and their infrared spectra recorded. The compounds prepared include (C 2H 5) 3SnR; ( n-C 4H 9) 3SnR; (C 6H 5) 2SnR; ( p-CH 3C 6H 4) 2SnR; (C 2H 5) 2SnR 2; ( n-C 4H 9) 2SnR 2 (R = allyl); (C 2H 5) 3SnR; ( n-C 4H 9) 3SnR′; (C 6H 5) 3SnR′; ( p-CH 3C 6H 4) 3SnR′ and ( n-C 4H 9) 2SnR′ 2 (R′ = β-methallyl).
