Abstract

Highlights • Cervical cancer incidence in CEECA is >2 times higher than elsewhere in Europe. • Cervical cancer prevention is either inadequately organized or not organized at all. • Barriers to screening: poor coverage, infrastructure, financial resources. • No national recommendations or inclusion in national programs for HPV vaccination. • Urgent need to raise awareness of cervical cancer and prevention on societal level.
