Abstract

Abstract A new series of biscyclometalated dinuclear rhodium (II) compounds with the general formula Rh 2( O 2 CR) 2( PC) 2 · 2H 2 O, being PC = (C 6H 4)P(C 6H 5) 2, R = CH 3 ( 1 · 2H 2 O), PC = [( p-CH 3 OC 6H 3)P( p-CH 3 OC 6H 4) 2], R = CF 3 ( 2 · 2H 2 O), PC = (C 6H 4)P[CH(CH 3) 2] 2, R = CH 3 ( 3 · 2H 2 O) and PC = (C 6H 4)P(C 6H 5) 2, R = C 6F 5 ( 4 · 2H 2 O) has been obtained. The crystal structures for these compounds have been determined by X-ray diffraction and the main structural trends, bond lengths, bond angles and torsion angles have been analyzed, and have also been compared with the structural parameters for different analogous complexes described previously in the literature.
