Abstract

Abstract Conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy measurements have been performed on Bi 3Fe 5O 12 (BiIG), Y 3Fe 5O 12 (YIG) and BiYIG. The hyperfine field at the tetrahedral site is increased to 426 kG indicating a decrease in the intrasublattice exchange interaction rather than the decrease of the tetrahedral iron moment.
