Abstract

Abstract An electrolytic method for preparation of thinfilms of solid electrolyte Ag 6I 4CrO 4 on a silver substrate is described. X-ray diffraction, SEM and electrical conductivity studies of various films prepared at different temperatures and different current densities reveal that the films prepared at 33°C and at a current density of 2mA cm −2 are of best quality. These films showed an electrical conductivity of 1.3×10 −2Ω −1cm −1 at room temperature with an activation energy of 0.08 eV for silver ion migration.
