Purpose of this work is to assess and evaluate assortment of selected European grapevine varieties from view of their frost, diseases and various pests resistance. The work is a summary of characteristics of grapevine sorts of various origin that are grown in our country. These include European grapevine sorts introduced from neighbouring viti-culturual countries to the Czech Republic territory that have been submitted to successful adaptation to our vinyards conditions and have proved to be fully aplicable in our viticultural sector. In this work, there is also made an assesment and evaluation of grapevine sorts developed by improvement breeding on our territory and their resistance to biotic and abiotic factors. Sufficient space is also dedicated to interspecific sorts in order to describe their resistance to frost and to deep diseases and their potential utilisation in bio-viticultural acitivities. In this work also impact of grapevine harmful factors has been studied, specifically pests of abiotic or biotic character, their charakteristic, scope of their harmfull effects to grapevine and also methods of direct and indirect protection against them, where the indirect methods are emphasized, above all in connection with selection of suitable grapevine sort, by executing green works and by introduction of biological grape pests enemies. Resistance of the selected grapevine sorts is focused to frost resistance and to resistance to mushroom diseases, i.e. to grape mould, powdery mildew and grey vine mould. The set of the varieties described forms a complete sort composition of cider grapevine sorts on the Czech Republic territory that is registered in a CR State Sort Book and is grown in two our viticultural regions, in the viticultural region Bohemia and the viticultural region Moravia. The work also describes viticultural countries, from where the sorts have been introduced, specifications and locations of our viticultural regions, their climatic and geological characterisation, all with respect to selection of grapevine sorts that are for given regions typical. When working on the topic of this bachelor study, works of our country top experts in viticulture and in vinyard field have been used as a source of information, such as those of Mr. Prof. Ing. Vilém Kraus, CSc; Doc. Ing. Vilém Kraus, CSc; Doc. Ing. Pavel Pavloušek, PhD.; Dr.Ing. Milan Hluchý; Ing. Petr Ackermann, CSc. and others.. Assessment of the grapevine sorts has been made in view of adaptability to growing conditions of both our viticultural regions, in view of the frost resistance, and sorts suitable for our viticultural regions have been selected. Also utilisation of VOC appeal system in Moravian subregions as well as utilisation of perspective interspecific sorts which due to their high mushroom diseases resistance form one of the alternatives for bio-vineyard field activities having growing importnace in the last years.
