Abstract

Abstract The phase equilibria in the CdGa 2Se 4–PbSe and CdGa 2Se 4–As 2Se 3 systems were investigated using differential-thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and metallography. Both systems are of the eutectic type. The coordinates of the eutectic point are ∼63 mol% PbSe and 973 K for the CdGa 2Se 4–PbSe system. The eutectic of the CdGa 2Se 4–As 2Se 3 system is degenerated towards As 2Se 3 with the eutectic temperature of 651 K.
