Abstract

DEAE Sephadex A-50 has been utilized in the development of a rapid procedure for the isolation of IgG anti-nuclear antibodies (ANA) from the sera of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The purified ANA is free of serum albumin, IgM and IgA and is therefore valuable in the characterization of ANA found in the sera of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and SLE.
