Abstract

The results of a comparative study of the structure of wall digested sporangia of Linderina pennispora at the scanning (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) levels and with the atomic force microscope (AFM) are presented. Atomic force microscopy was undertaken on uncoated, unshadowed material and provided images of the wall microfibrils of the sporangia comparable to those obtained with gold coated material in the SEM and gold/palladium shadowed material in the TEM.
