Abstract

SUMMARY. — The mathematician René-François de Sluse (1622-1685), native of Liège, corresponded with Collins, Grew, Heinsius, Hobbes, Holstenius, Huygens, Lambeck, Oldenburg, Pascal, Ricci, Sorbière, Leopold of Tuscany, Wallis and many others. Part of this correspondence appears in various published collections, and part remains unpublished. As a first step toward a new, complete edition, we give here a preliminary chronological inventory of the correspondence, including references to letters lost, as well as points of information concerning the probable addressee of certain letters.
