Abstract

The method uses only a simple Ouchterlony gel plate, and consists of measuring the distance travelled by the specific precipitate of the protein under standardized conditions. A simple statistical technique is used to estimate the error. It was possible to discriminate between protein solutions differing in concentration by 10 per cent. No interference was found when a large amount of rat serum was mixed with the protein solution.
