Flexible Use of Audiovisual Media in Higher Education Abstract The Bologna Process facilitates the use of audiovisuals in higher education by the systematic organisation of the study programmes. Audiovisuals can be collected, documented and made available in a systematic way. The introduction of e-Learning in higher education makes use of audiovisuals in many ways. The question is: “How can audiovisuals be provided as to find them easily and integrate them in e-Learning environments?” In the context of two projects funded bei the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung it was possible for IWF Leibniz-Institut für Wissen und Medien to develop a media management system, which make the transfer of media and metadata in other system possible. In cooperation with Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen (SUB) and the Verbundszentrale of the Gemeinsamer Bibliotheksverbund (VZG) the media and metadata were transferred into the library systems. IWFcampusmedien can now be used in e-Learning environments as needed. Keywords Learning management, media literacy, online-media, cultural studies, motion pictures in education
