Abstract

Record level- This group consists of 144 images from a fishing trip on Lake Powell in the summer of 1965. There are 32 black-and-white prints, 60 color slides, and 15 color prints. Pictures show the rising waters of the lake, boats on the water, cliff walls, pictographs, Frank Wright's ferry, a marina, a burro, and a horse. Sites depicted include Forgotten Canyon, Escalante, Mystery Canyon, Hall's Crossing, Forbidding Canyon, the Rincon, Jackass Flat, Hole-in-the-Rock, Little Arch Canyon, Cathedral Canyon, Ball (or Double Eye) Canyon, Moqui Canyon, West Canyon, Wilson Canyon, and Cathedral of the Desert. People appearing in the photographs are Jack and Mabel Weadock; Frank Wright; photographer, Earl Hilfiker; and Tad Nichols. Not all the images of this group have been digitized, but all may be viewed at the Cline Library Special Collections and Archives Department.
