Abstract

Abstract Riboflavin is also widely known as vitamin B2. It is used for the treatment of its deficiency known as ariboflavinosis, which usually occurs with malabsorption, alcoholism, or protein–calorie deficiency and is rarely the sole vitamin deficiency. Because riboflavin is only moderately water soluble, its absorption from the gastrointestinal tract is limited, and hence mega doses given orally are not toxic.
