Abstract

Summary Prostaglandin E 1 increases the level of cyclic AMP in human blood platelets while epinephrine causes a decrease. The cyclic AMP-lowering effect of epinephrine is prevented by the α-adrenergic blocking agent phentolamine but not by the β-adrenergic blocking agent propranolol.
