This report details the findings of a survey of Year 9 and Year 11 students attending New South Wales public high schools. The survey was undertaken by the National Centre in HIV Social Research (NCHSR) at the University of New South Wales in collaboration with the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) at La Trobe University. The survey formed part of the Hepatitis and Health project, funded by the New South Wales Health Department and the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care. At the same time, personnel from the New South Wales Department of Education and Training conducted another project which developed appropriate curriculum support materials for secondary schools related to hepatitis.
