Abstract

Abstract The problem of dosimetry in a pulsed mixed radiation field around a specially-designed electron linear accelerator which can deliver pulsed electrons of 50 nC and pulse width of 20 ps, are described. The quick response of the ionization chamber to short pulsed radiation is observed and the effect of the response to the dosimetry is also studied. In a mixed field it might be convenient from the stand-point of the dosimetry to define a quantity that can well express the characteristics of the mixed field. The average G-value and the average quality factor are considered to be parameters suitable for such a quantity.
