Abstract

Abstract A series of pH and temperature-responsive ( N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylic acid) random copolymers were synthesized by radical copolymerization and their lower critical solution temperatures (LCST) determined by cloud point measurements over a range of pH environments. LCSTs of the copolymers are observed at low pH values and are significantly affected by the variation in pH of the aqueous environment.
