Abstract

The infrared spectrum of gaseous and matrix isolated $BeB_{2}H_{8}$ will be presented and the implications with respect to the disputed structure of this compound will be discussed. Additional structural evidence from the determination of a dipole moment of $2.1 \pm 0.5$ Debye will be described. Finally, the results of a current reexamination of the electron diffraction data at larger scattering angles will be given.
