Abstract

Abstract Theoretical descriptions of the glass and Curie temperatures of ternary metallic glasses are derived. The glass temperature T g for a ternary amorphous alloy (A x B 1− x ) y C 1− y can be written as T g ( ABC) = x ∗T g ( A y C 1−y) + x (1−x) ∗ ΔH + (1−x) ∗ T g( B y C 1−y) . The Curie temperature T c of a ternary amorphous alloy (A x B 1− x C 1− y can be written as T c ( ABC) = x ∗T c ( A y C 1−y) + x(1−x ∗ ΔJ + (1−x) ∗ T c(B yC 1−y) . These simple equations show good agreement with experimental results.
