Abstract

UNC graduation robe. Robe is made of black heavy muslin. It has full, long, pointed sleeves, distinguishing it as a bachelor's gown. It has an opened front with a single clasp at the neck. The manufacturer's tag at the nape reads "TILDEN MFG. CO./SPECIALITIES / AMES, IOWA" Size 4. A hand-sewn tag at the nape reads "Given April 10, 1953 by Mrs. Walter B. Scott of Sarasota, Florida, to be used by some Carolina student at graduation." Shoulders 15.5 in., sleeves 25 in.
