Abstract

Abstract A method is proposed for evaluating the effective stratification compatible with well-known plume rise and entrainment growth formulations when the vertical distribution of density differs from idealized conditions. In addition consideration is given to reducing a measured non-constant profile of wind speed to one compatible with theory. A nomogram method based on the commonalities of the developments is offered for small volume data reduction.
