Abstract

Abstract Appearance of the random summing shape on a shoulder of a photopeak shape was examined by co-acquisition of an EC decay source ( 54Mn) or a β − -IT transition source ( 137Cs 137mBa) and precision pulser signals. An empirical functional modelling for the random summing shape can be made in the region close to the photopeak. The co-acquísition technique with the pulser revealed a direct measure of the random summing counting loss of the photopeak counts.
