Harold E. Belch was born on December 4, 1901 in Tacoma, Washington and moved to Ellensburg, Washington in 1905. He graduated from Ellensburg High School and went into business with his father and brother. For 30 years he operated the H. E. Belch, Inc., a wholesale candy and tobacco house until his retirement in April 1966. On June 22, 1926, Harold married Ruth Hedrick. The couple moved to Yakima, Washington on June 1, 1966. Harold died on June 23, 1966 at the age of 64 years.
