Abstract

SNOW ANGELS Snow, so white and pure Smiles light up their white faces. As if washed by angels. Their stick arms like wiry hangers. Covering earth like a blanket Seems silly we don't want them to be warm. We want them to come to life. Like ivory dust from the sky. Their arms wiry as metal hangers. As if washed by angels, We like to name them for fun. We use bare hands to fashion snowballs, We want them to come to life. Like ivory dust falling from sky, We hope to dance and laugh and play. We stick out our tongues to taste. We like to name them for fun, Frosty, Crystal, Fluffy, or Bob. We use bare hands to fashion snowballs We hope to dance, and laugh, and play. And build people with coal and buttons. We elaborate about our day with them. Smiles light up their white faces. We give them our hats and scarves. Frosty, Crystal, Fluffy, or Bob Seems silly, we don't want them to be warm. It's sad that you have to go, We'll elaborate about our time with you. We'll miss you until the next snow. Smiles light up their white faces. Their stick arms like wiry hangers. Seems silly we don't want them to be warm. We want them to come to life. -Tammy J. Blair Blair, Tammy J. "Snow Angels."
