Abstract

Abstract We studied foetal liver cells in the CBA/Ca inbred strain of mice for the expression of surface markers, specifically complement receptors. The method consisted of activating the classical and alternate pathways of complement and of multiple labelling experiments for blocking sensitized sheep red cell and aggregated immunoglobulin receptor(s). Cells bearing these receptors were detected as early as the 13th day of gestation.
