Abstract

Abstract A theoretical model to calculate the sound fields of phased array probes with coupling wedges had been developed in order to optimize the relevant design parameters as are: element size and distance, element size and delay time distribution, and the frequency spectra. Special attention had been paid to the reduction of the electrical and the acoustical crosstalk. The contribution is dealing with results of measurements and theoretical calculations demonstrating directivity patterns of phased array probes constructed according to different concepts.
