Abstract

Abstract Investigations of the physical and chemical characteristics of a modified polyethylene battery separator and observations of its performance in the heat-sterilizable AgO-Zn battery have led to proposing that the transport properties of this material may depend on particular heterogeneous aspects. In this study a computer program developed for anlyses of complex thermophysical problems was used to obtain descriptions of diffusion acrioss a model of a heterogeneous, inert membrane having isolated permeable areas on its surfaces.
