Abstract

Abstract The biosynthetic incorporation fo Glucose [U- 13C 6] into the C 7N 2 unit of A23187 indicated that this functionality is formed by a divergence of the shikimate pathway. The possibility that 2,6-diaminobenzoic acid is a free intermediate inthe biosynthesis of this unit was eliminated.
