Abstract

Abstract Finite temperature transport quantities, as the optical conductivity σ(ω), the d.c. resistivity ϱ( T), the Hall conductivity, are studied in the planar t - J model at various hole dopings using a novel method based on the Lanczos diagonalization of small systems. At optimum doping σ(ω) spectra show a slow non-Drude fall-off at large frequencies, while ϱ( T) reveals a nearly linear T dependence, both results being in quantitative agreement with experiments on cuprates.
