Abstract

Abstract Fresh plasma obtained from normal children and children with leukemia contained 0.2–0.24 mg of particulate protein/ml. This protein was sedimented by centrifugation of plasma samples at 37000 × g for 30 min.The protein: RNA ratio of this material was 13.6. The particulate material actively incorporated [ 14C]phenylalanine by a process that was dependent on Mg ++ concentration which did not require added ATP.These studies failed to find significant differences in the plasma particulate material which were associated with leukemia.
