Abstract

Abstract A taxonomic study was carried out on ostracodes from outcrop and core samples across the Cretaceous–Tertiary boundary in the Poty quarry, Pernambuco, northeastern Brazil. Thirty species belonging to 13 genera are described; one genus, Langiella, and eight species— Schizoptocythere potyensis, Paracosta recifeiensis, Protocosta reticulata, Protobuntonia glabra, Loxoconcha mariafarinhensis, Cytheropteron brasiliensis, Bythoceratina inflata, and Paracypris pernambucensis—are new.
