Abstract

Abstract In this work the influence of a sputtered coating (SiO 2) on a FeSiCuNbB amorphous alloy has been studied from two points of view: the effect on the nanocrystallization process and the effect on the magnetic properties. It is shown that after heat treatment (550°C for 1 h) a magnetic anisotropy normal to the ribbon axis appears due to anelastic strains.
