Influence of the microstructure on the anisotropy behavior ofa-axis oriented systems in the vortex liquid phase

Abstract

Abstract High temperature superconducting EuBa 2Cu 3O 7 films and EuBa 2Cu 3O 7 / SrTiO 3 multilayers with a-axis orientation (CuO 2 planes perpendicular to the substrate) have been grown by sputtering on SrTiO 3 substrates. In the vortex liquid phase, the anisotropy follows the thin film H c2(θ) model in both systems. In the case of films the anisotropy parameter is similar to the values reported in single crystals and c-axis films. On the other hand the multilayers show a weakening of the anisotropy with lower values of the anisotropy parameter than in usual systems. The competition among different lengths could be a hint to explain this behavior.
