Abstract

Abstract Radical copolymerisation of 5-(4′-acrylamidophenyl)-10,15, 20-tritolylporphyrin (ATTP) with styrene, 4-vinylpyridine and 1-vinylimidazole leads to soluble linear copolymers characterised by visible and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The different porphyrin polymers obtained were metallated with cobalt and copper and studied by visible and EPR spectroscopy. The efficiency of these new cobalt catalysts was compared to already described systems in a simple oxidation test: 2,6-di-t-butylphenol (DTBP) oxidation by molecular oxygen.
