Abstract

Abstract Magnetization of glassy Fe 78Mo 2B 20 has been studied in low applied fields as a function of temperature between 300 and 900 K. The kink-point method gives the ferromagnetic Curie temperature of 506 ± 1 K. Using heating rates of 1.0 and 1.6 K min −1, the crystallization starts at 675 and 680 K, respectively. It has been observed that Mo decreases the Curie temperature much more rapidly when dissolved in a glassy rather than in a crystalline, Fe-rich matrix.
