Dressing effects on transverse dust lattice waves in dusty plasmas

Abstract

Abstract It is shown that the transverse dust lattice waves become unstable due to the dressing effects in strongly coupled dusty plasmas. It is also found that the growth rate of the instability increases for 3 + 1 < a / λ D < 2 2 + 2 and decreases for a / λ D > 2 2 + 2 , where a is the spacing of dust grains and λ D is the Debye length.
