Abstract

Abstract A dye-protein test involving the use of Congo red, quinine hydrochloride, and serum has been described in which it is possible to detect serum changes in malarial infections. Observations on experimental and human infections lead one to believe that the test could be utilized as a diagnostic test for latent infections. The technique of the test is not presented as a definitive procedure but rather as one that has sufficient promise to warrant further exploration.
