Abstract

Abstract Cabbage looper larvae, Trichoplusia ni, were equally susceptible to isolates of the entomogenous fungus Nomuraea rileyi from Missouri, Mississippi, and Brazil; an isolate from Florida was 7–17 times less active than the other isolates. Velvetbean caterpillars, Anticarsia gemmatalis, were either only slightly susceptible or not susceptible to the isolates of N. rileyi from Missouri, Florida, and Mississippi. In contrast, larvae of A. gemmatalis cultured from three locations (Missouri, Florida, and Brazil) all were equally susceptible to a Brazilian isolate of N. rileyi.
