Carmen LOZANO FRANCISCO* y Antonio GUERRAMERCHAN* ABSTRACT Vera Peláez, J.L., Lozano Francisco, M.C. and Guerra-Merchán, A. Scaphopods (Mollusca, Scaphopoda) from the Pliocene of Málaga (Spain). A taxonomic study of the scaphopod species found in the marine Pliocene sediments of Malaga province (Southern Spain) is reported. This work is part of a broader project in which we shall study all the Pliocene shelly faunas of this region, in order to undertake palaeocologic and paleobiogeographic analyses. 20 species were identified, most of them first cited in the province of Malaga: Dentalium (Dentalim) inaequale Bronn, 1831; D. (D.) sexangulum Gmelin, 1789; D. (D.) michelottii Homes, 1856; D. (D.) passerinianum Cocconi, 1873; D. (Fissidentalium) rectum Linnaeus, 1789; D. (Antalis)fossile Gmelin, 1789; D. (A.) raricostatum Sacco, 1897; D. (A.) inaequicostatum Dautzemberg, 1891; D. (A.) dentalis Linnaeus, 1758; D. (A.) vulgare Da Costa, 1778; D. (A.) panormum Chenu, 1842; D. (A.) coarti Dautzemberg, 1912; Fustiaria (Fustiaria) jani (HOmes, 1856); F. (F.) emersoni Caprotti, 1979; Pseudantalis (Pseudantalis) rubescens (Deshayes, 1825); Gadilina (Gadilina) triquetra (Brocchi, 1814); Entalina (Entalina) tetragona (Brocchi, 1814); Cadalus (Gadila) ventricosus (Bronn, 1827); C. (G.) gadula Doderlein, 1862 and Pulsellum (Pulsellum) lofotense (M. Sars, 1865). D. (A.) coarti Dautzemberg, 1912 is found by first time in the Mediterranean Sea and also in a Pliocene outcrop. RESUMEN Se ha efectuado un estudio taxonómico de los escafópodos presentes en los sedimentos marinos del Plioceno de la provincia de Málaga.
