Abstract

A diagnostic model for understanding the group of patients described as having Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) is outlined. Five diagnostic categories are suggested together with guidelines for the management of each group. The importance of viewing the patients in category 5, ‘Non-Specific Regional Pain’, as chronic pain patients is emphasized, together with a more detailed description of their management.
